Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

At Defendly, we protect your infrastructure — and that commitment extends to your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website monitoring platform, why we collect it, and how you retain control over your data.

01. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve our uptime, performance, and security monitoring services:

Account Data

Your name, work email address, organization name, billing details, and alert configuration preferences.

Monitored Endpoint Data

URLs, IP addresses, ping responses, SSL certificate details, and HTTP headers collected to evaluate uptime.

02. How We Use Your Information

We process data exclusively for operational, security, and service delivery purposes. Specifically, we use your data to:

  • Execute automated ping checks, security scans, and SSL verification against your endpoints.
  • Dispatch instant incident notifications via Email, SMS, Webhooks, or Slack integrations.
  • Generate uptime history reports, response-time telemetry, and incident analytics.
  • Process subscription payments and prevent fraud or unauthorized system access.

03. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or endpoint data.

We only share necessary data with trusted infrastructure sub-processors under strict data protection agreements:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: AWS & Cloudflare (for global monitoring node hosting).
  • Payment Processing: Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant card handling).
  • Transactional Messaging: SendGrid & Twilio (for incident alert delivery).

04. Security & Data Retention

All telemetry and account communication is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. We retain raw endpoint ping logs for 90 days on standard plans and up to 365 days on Enterprise plans before automated aggregation and purging.

05. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your region, you retain full rights regarding your personal data, including:

Right to Access Export a complete copy of your account data anytime.
Right to Erasure Request total account deletion and log purging ("Right to be Forgotten").
Right to Opt-Out Unsubscribe from marketing emails in one click.

06. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential session cookies strictly necessary for dashboard authentication and security token validation. We do not use third-party invasive ad-tracking cookies.
